Temptations just too much sometimes

Snowy, one of my cats jumped up on the stove a few days ago. Only thing was, it was on at the time. I was making a cheese sauce and had the pan on the worktop while I was adding the milk and had just left the burner (gas) on. I had my back to the stove and didn't see Snowy sneaking in. Snowy jumped up and jumped off far quicker and shot out the cat-flap like a thing demented. We went out frantically looking for him but couldn't find him. He came strolling back about 10 minutes later like he hadn't a care in the world. We checked him over thoroughly and the only thing he'd done was singe his whiskers. He was very lucky he didn't burn himself. In all the years I've had him, he'd never done that before - and I don't think he'll do it again in a hurry.
