The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Hi everybody, I was just wondering if anybody has any advice for me.
Sleeves loves treats, we give him whiskas and felix kitbits and have them around all the time so they are on hand if he needs to be rewarded on the spot, or if I just feel like spoiling him
However... I want to be able to do this with Nismo but she's not so keen. She kind of looks at the treat on the floor or in my hand and sniffs it... occasionally she'll start to eat it but Sleeves just steals it!
Last night I lifted Sleeves up and held him, despite his wriggling and Nismo actually ate a treat but it took her so long that she probably forgot she had done something good.
She is only 11 weeks and I know I shouldnt force treats on her if shes not interested, so Im not but what other ways of rewarding her are there? I feel like she might think Im rewarding Sleeves but not her... Id happily give her huge cuddles and scritches but shes too hyperactive at the moment to appreciate affection unless she's tired lol.
How does everyone else show their littlest babies they've done good?

Yeah I suppose, she loves the cat dancer so we play with that a lot but I just wondered if there was something separate you know that only happened when she'd done really good so she's know the difference, I suppose its all to do with training, so she knows a reward from just playing? I could maybe buy a toy and if she likes it keep it out of reach until such occasions

You could also try a different food treat such as a tiny piece of cheese, a little dob of yoghurt on your finger or something you know she likes. As long as it's safe and just a tiny bit occassionally, it should be fine.

My Pete Pete has always been picky about treats, which is why I despaired of ever clicker training her. Quite by accident while fixing myself lunch one day, I discovered that she'll do ANYTHING for a tiny bit of corned beef from the deli. It took me EIGHT YEARS to find somthing she'll work for, so I was overjoyed. Just wanted to let you know...don't give up, there is probably SOMETHING out there your girl will work for.

Thanks for that, she does like ham and little bits of chicken, but she can only get that when Marks about as Im vegetarian! Dont think she'd be too impressed if I handed her a stick of celery or something

Its just hard to have these things on hand. I had her at the vet last night for her first shot and as I had her on my own (Mark stayed home to look after a greiving Sleeves) I was able to give her a treat and spend the time letting her sniff at it before eating it as usually Sleeves thinks shes not interested and pinches it.
Ill persevere, thanks everyone

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
Rosie will eat any treat given to her, but Sophie won't entertain them.

She comes up to see what Rosies being given and i'll hand her one but she'll just sniff it and walk away.

Rosie must be thrilled at the fact Sophie doesn't like them though

If she responds to affection really well, then just love and affection may do the trick! Every kitty has their own treat!
