stray cat is pregnant and sick... what's wrong?

Hi, I'm new to this message board. The reason I joined is that I have a dilemma... Well, my next door neighbor just moved about 2 or 3 months ago and they left their cat behind for some reason. She is pregnant now, she has been pregnant since a little bit after they moved. Since then, her hair behind her legs has been thinning and now the thinning is spreading all over the back parts of her body including her hind legs, belly, and her back. Does anyone know what could be wrong with her? Is it normal for hair to fall out when cat's are pregnant?

No, it's not normal, but in order to find out what may be causing it, she will need to be seen by a vet. Does anyone have the finances to see that she gets to a vet? If not, is anyone willing to trap her and deliver her to a shelter?

Are you sure she's pregnant? Cats gestate 63 days, give or take a day or two, so it's unlikely that she would still be pregnant all this time. She had to be pretty far along for you to even notice she was pregnant, which means she's already gone way beyond 63 days.

It sounds like she is infested with paracites. Also, she may have flea (or other) allergies which is causing her hair to fall out. Or, she may be infested with mites which can also cause hair loss. She really does need to go to a vet. Is there a way you can take her?

i'm a college student and i don't have much money to take even my own cat to a vet. but i cant help but feel for this cat cuz she's been abandoned. do any of u live in california? are there any low cost or special program places i could go to? how much would it cost? thank you for your help!

i do think she's still pregnant cuz her belly and breasts are still big. i might have been off in my approximation.
