My part siamese cat was always so sweet but over the last few months she has grown increasingly more violent towards everyone, she will be purring 1 second loving the petting and attention then suddenly she will attack my hand leaving terrible wounds, i mean chunks of my skin missing. some one please tell me what to do.

My suggestion would be to take your kit to the vet.....

Cats are good at not showing pain or sickness....instead they try to show us in other ways.....A big one being a dramatic change in behavior....

So the possibility exsists that your kit is sick, or hurt......

two more things....
a purring cat dosnt always nessesarily mean a happy cat...Purring can indicate stress or pain as well....

the other thing is make sure to thouroughly clean out the scratches you get to ensure that infection does not set in...

Good luck.....

Hi Mike, welcome to TCS.

I agree with Bridget, behaviour that is out of the ordinary is an almost sure sign that the cat is ill or in pain. A vet visit is a good idea. If she gets the all-clear at the vet, the aggression may be behavioural. Had there been any change in your (and therefore her) life when she started this behaviour? Did you move house, get a dog, lose/gain a partner or another cat? Is she spayed?

Please get this little one checked by the vet asap. If illness is ruled out, there could also be a possiblilty that the cat has mental problems. Not common but it happens. The vet can give you some meds to calm the kitty down some.

I had a friend who adopted a cat with mental problems. He also had medical problems which made things worse. The meds helped for a while, but he also became increasingly violent. In the end, the vet decided the best for him was to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I think if he had been adopted earlier and given the correct medical treatment - he may have had a better chance.

It's sad and very difficult, and only a medical professional will have the right answers for you. I really hope things will work out.
