I'm new to the site and wanted to introduce myself. About 4 years ago I moved to a new home and told the former owner that we would take the stray cat and her two kittens that had chosen to live there. (I had fallen in love with Momma when we looked at the house never thinking that one day she would live there with us.) That began my love of cats! You see our road was a dumping ground for unwanted animals. I Lost my beloved Momma to a liver virus not even a year later but she lives on through the strays we have given a home to. The day we brought Momma home to her final rest two stray kittens came up to me, sat at my feet and meowed. I knew that Momma had sent them to me to say "I may be gone but you can help others"
We now have 14 felines including Mommas two kittens (who are all grown up and SPOILED) Spaz and Oreo who live out here in the country with us. I have spayed and nutered untill we no longer have a problem. We also have a tripod cat Sweetie who is about ready to return to the outdoors post surgery. We are at our maximum feline capacity now but as I said before what was once a population explosion is now under control.

Wow did you say 14 cats
What a handful! A big, furry, meowing, cute handful of cats walkin around the house, that is
!! I'm glad to hear it's all under control now, though.

Oh and I have a cat named Sweetie, too!!

Well, welcome to you & your 14 furbabies to The Cat Site! Hope you find the answers you need to. Have a great time here!

Yep 14! But it does help that I only have furry children, no human. Also 12 are outside (since they were all from a feral background) with their own "house" to go into at night. My tripod is also an outdoor kitty but even though the vet said to let her on out I have been taking it slow. She may be ready but I am not!

Well I guess having 12 of them outside would help, right? Still, what a bunch of cats! I'm jealous
...but then again I have no room for that many cats anyways, so I'm happy with my 2, Sweetie and Precious
. And do take it slow with your Sweetie if you feel you need to, there's no big rush right? Nice to meet you & your furbabies

It's so wonderful that you were able to offer a home to these kitties and get the feral population under control as well
