Wellllll....I did it. Yesterday I went to the shelter, just to "look" at the kittens.
Ummm......this is what happened.....

She is 9 months old, just recovered from surgery on her back left leg as a result of being hit by a car in November. Even at a month older than Sophie Grace, she's about half her size! They took the pin out of her leg and spayed her the beginning of this month. So far, no problems!

Okay....she needs a name!!!! I have no idea why this is so hard this time, maybe because I wasn't expecting to bring someone home. Whatever the reason, I just cannot decide on a name!

I'm considering these, in no particular order:
Ceres
Circe
Luna
Silvie
Isis
Scarlett

Help, please!!!!! (I'll tell you more about her later, right now this baby needs to stop being called "the new cat"!) Thanks!!

Congratulations on your new addition. Going to the shelter is dangerous for us. We have done the same thing. Even sat in the parking lot and told my family that we are JUST LOOKING. Ended up bringing home a Aussie Shepard.

I vote for Luna

In her second pic, she looks like she's performing a magic trick where the back part of her body has disappeared into thin air! Hope her leg is alright now

I like Luna! My only other suggestion is Eve, Eva or Evie since you brought her home on New Year's Eve.

She is BEAUTIFUL and I LOVE that you took her home!!! How is she getting along with your other two babies?
Congratulations on your new sweetie!!!!!

I knew that I could count on everyone here to help!!!! Thanks, everyone! Luna was probably my favorite, too, because I'm such a nut over anything involving the moon. Soooooooo.....Introducing................Luna Eve
(because I really liked the idea of putting Eve in there since she came home on New Year's Eve).

It's actually going very well with Sophie. Cassie is still skittish and doesn't want anything to do with either of them, so she is ruling the indoor porch and basement, while the other two run the main part of the house. Sophie Grace has growled a little and hissed just a couple of times, but mostly follows Luna around, watching her curiously.

I even caught her playing with her by the toy basket this morning already!

We went shopping today and got Luna a new collar, litter box, food bowls, etc. Now that she has a proper name, we'll pick up an i.d. tag on our next visit to town.

More pics to follow, of course! Thanks again, all!

My husband makes so much fun of me for this new trend I have started of giving my cats middle names! Cassie is actually Cassandra Marie!

Good choice on Luna Eve!

Lucky girl to be rescued by you. You know, black cats bring good luck, so it looks like 2006 will be a great year for you!

Oh, I thought Cassie was short for Cassiopeia (sp), which would totally go with Luna (which I like anyway), if you were going for an astronomy theme!
What a lucky baby!! I can't go to the animal shelters because I always want to bring someone home with me, but we can only have two at a time (my hubby is slightly allergic but he knows how much I love them)! (He loves our kitties, too.)
