First, Happy New Year everyone!

As I mentioned in my other thread, Ripley urinated on a piece of the sectional couch I keep in my room (a chair). It has a slipcover and down-wrapped foam cushions. The slipcover should only be dry cleaned, however I put a pet stain/odor remover on it. The stain and the smell didn't come out. Then there's the cushion... how can I possibly get the urine out that soaked into the down feathers and then into the foam? the cushion is about 4-5 inches thick.

I tried soaking that section of the cushion in pet stain/odor remover, but it didn't work. Will an enzyme cleaner soak in far enough? The furniture was very expensive, I don't want to have to get rid of it.

the only thing you can do is this instance is hire a company to come in and steam and deep clean the furniture, or buy a slipcover for it.

I was afraid you were going to say that....

I would call them after the holidays and talk to them. Sometimes they will sell you the industrial cleaner they use to get pet stains out of furniture, then you can rent a machine and do it yourself.

I'm having the same issue, with my mattress. I don't think much urine got on the mattress, but it smells. We tried rubbing some Nature's Miracle on it (1/2 hour ago, so nothing yet) and don't know if that'll be enough. It's a new mattress and wedding present; warranty might cover it, but we'd rather not have to replace it. The deep cleaning you mention (see hissy's reply), does that refer to mattresses as well? Thanks!

(I posted about this yesterday under "how to clean pee").

Thanks!

You can try Oxy clean, that works quite well and it works great on old dried stains. I use a lot of Oxy clean with bobcats and a cougar in the house, thats for sure. I read about another product called Zero Odor Pet. It did get great reviews, but I have not ordered any yet to try it myself. Zero Odor pet is supoosed to remove the odor and stain, even after it has been set in for a long time. I have a link to their web site if anyone is interested. I am not sure if TCS would allow me to post it here.

Try vinegar/water first which will neutralize the stain, let it dry and then mouthwash to deodorize and make it smell better. It worked on all three spots Cody went on the rug. Good luck!
