Baring any bad nibbles (I already have my snack for later planned and included), I am doing ok seen as I was home today - I think it will be actually easier when i am at work and not just sitting around relaxing.

I managed the 30 mins exercise and kept kinda within my goals for veg and carbs/fat/protein
I had 5/5 veg servings
fitday set a goal for me of 25% fat, 42% carbs and 33% protein of which I managed 29F, 50C, 21P.

I made my meal plan for the week and went shopping and mostly stuck to the list (BF was with me and threw some goodies into the cart)

I'm gonna do this too. Do we go to Fitday.com to do the point thing? My big problem is at work going out to eat really bad stuff for lunch. And sleeping during my lunch break rather than exercising.

No we are keeping track of the points ourselves, fitday.com lets you enter all the foods and exercise you do so you can see where you are going wrong and check the nutrients/cals of foods and recipes

I'm in too!

My goals...

1. Control portions.
2. Try not to snack so much throughout the day.
3. When I do snack.. make sure they are healthy.
4. Not to order out as much.
5. Try to exercise 2 or 3 times a week. (I know it should be more but that is somewhat reasonable with my work schedule... I'd rather set it lower and accomplish it then set it too high and fail)
6. Lose the 20 lbs I gained last year!!!

I am going to go join that website too. =)

My mother in law wants me to help her lose weight. She just wanted me to go for a walk with her.

I'm about a size 13/14 right now, up from a 9/10 a year ago. Medications for my recently diagnosed bipolar disorder have contributed to my weight gain.

I would like to get back to the size I was last year, by the summer. I bought an eliptical trainer on Boxing Day for a great deal, and although it's really hard, I have been using it, and am trying to work on my diet. I'll be sure to post on how I'm progressing.

Thats a great idea - I am also working on fiber today rather than taking a fiber supplement

I think I'm going to attempt to be in. I don't know why but this waitressing job has got me gaining weight and not loosing it. I have joined up with FitDay and am still trying to figure out what the numbers mean, but it should be good just to see what I'm eating without doing a large portion of the studying myself (makes me depressed to do the counting). I was talking with a friend of mine today and she said that she's joining the local Y, so I might do so too...in an attempt to exercise (and socialize) more.
I have a shorter and a longer term goal, since I'm so overweight. Ultimately I'd love to be 50-70lbs lighter, but short term, I'd like to loose 30lbs by July so I can go to my friends weddings in style (mind you, I already plan on doing that!).
You guys have inspired me...time to go for a walk on my parents tredmill! Does anyone have any ideas for making exercise more fun? I know some people are using the DDR method, but I have bad connections to that game (ex was obsessed). I hate using the tredmill. Man I wish I had an elliptical trainer!!!
So.
Goal: 30lbs lighter by July, happier with myself, sense of achievement (and beauty), and feeling healthier
Method: PORTION CONTROL. I eat well, but too much; Limiting bad-for-you desserts (possibly eating more fruit at that time); taking my multivitamin and calcium everyday; drinking water; and making sure to exercise more, because I really hate it.
ok...time to get the shoes on and walk up a storm!
Jess

8 miles! I am very impressed! I wish I had worked harder at staying in shape many years ago, instead of letting it get this bad!

But I am starting where I am today, and exercising and eating better.

Sylorna/Jess, if the treadmill is boring, just do it while watching TV. That's the only way I can do the exercise bike-while watching the news. So I am distracted from my thoughts of grumbling about the exercise.

We CAN do this. Not that we won't slip at times, but we can all work together on improving our health!

Just talked my BF into buying me an elliptical on his next pay
I had to agree to some dumb PS2 game that he can play though. And he has given in to the DDR already so I can exercise without the gym (I showed him the membership fee for our local gym and he nearly fell off his chair).

And on the food front I did well - I bought some high fiber cereal to munch on at work to keep me away from the chips (I actually got double the amount of fiber fitday recommended), I was a little over cals (I was starving for some reason today and ate loads so they came from 'good' foods but still) and I stuck closely (2-3% difference) to the fat/carbs/protein goals fitday set YAY oh and I took the bosses dog out for a walk at lunch!

Goal for tomorrow - cut down on carbs!

Good start! I hear that fiber can really help the weightloss along. I wish there was such a thing as a "rent a dog" where I could take them out for walks everyday but not have the hassle of vetbills, training, early morning accidents, puppy phases and all of the other delights of dog ownership. I think it'd really be a big motivation!
I have a question though, regarding fitday. It gave me persentages and the such, but didn't set out goals for me...am I missing something, or doing something wrong?
Tomorrow: Meeting friend for tea in local quaint English style teahouse. Aka: not somewhere with dangerous foods. I'm also going out and looking for a pedometer, if for no other reason to find out how hard my boss actually makes me work

have a healthy day tomorrow everyone!

My Bf has the 'pay' version of fitday

The ones I posted above are just its general 'I am on a healthy diet' values I haven't customised them any.

Well, I bought a bunch of yogurt, SmartOnes, carrots, lettuce, and non-fat dressing so I can eat much more sensibly at work. I also drank a lot more water today, and had a smaller dinner proably because of that!

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
I don't think its a good idea to weigh yourself everyday, maybe once a week. I don't have scales because I easily obsess over my weight and have at times used the scales several times a day which just tells you nothing.
I want to be in on this too! I consider myself quite fit already, I go to the gym several times a week and do Tae Kwon Do but sometimes my efforts are lame at the gym and I don't push myself enough.
I eat fairly healthily and don't need to lose much weight, but... I don't eat the right foods for me. Im vegetarian and don't know enough about what I need to eat to replace what Im not getting from meat. When I lived at home my mum cooked my meals so I never worried but now its up to me and Im finding it hard.
So my goals are to push myself to the limit in the gym and wise up on vegetarian food.
Good luck everyone!
Lauren

I think most of us are going to weigh weekly. I think i would lose all motivation is i weighed Daily!
So every sunday i am weighing. I am logging my exercise points daily!

Todays goal: Cut 20% out of restaurant meals (and dinner i tend to over eat at dinner)
