Every now and again I'll sneak the babies some bits of cheese because they LOVE it!! Today I thought I'd deflect Sashka's cheese radar with a particularly chunky bit on the lounge, and then stealthily throw a little bit across the room to Sunday.

Apparently my clever ruse was hopelessly transparent.

Sashka INHALED her bit of cheese and then managed to get to the other side of the room faster than the speed of light (without appearing to bother with the intervening space) and INHALED Sunday's bit of cheese before anyone could blink. Poor Sunday looked as stunned as I was!

Sometimes I am amazed at how quickly they can move when apparently they're half asleep only moment before...

Watch out when there's cheese to be had! Or treats of any kind really.

I love the "stealth bomber" title. We usually call that Jamie's "kamikaze act". Every once in a while we'll be eating something, and a black and white blur passes by, and the food is mysteriously gone. The last time that happened it was a piece of very hot pepperoni my husband was eating - it must have smelled awfully good. It's amazing how fast cats can be.

Yeah no kidding. What kind of cheese do they like?

I was wondering when you were going to show up in this thread Ryan!

Silly kitties, eh?? I have one like that. I give them treats every night before I go to bed. I have to give Chester his last because he gobbles them up so fast, then tries to go after his sisters!

Yeah, I've had to do the treat balancing act when Chasey visits with Jax and Onyx. I have to give Jax his treats last or he tries to eat the other kitties' treats.

Yes, this was actually a test. I made it up just so I could put `cheese' in the thread title. It was a trap and you fell for it Wyan!!!

Not really folks. She likes ANY kind of cheese. She is just mad for it.
It's the only treat she likes, really. Oh, and chicken necks. If you go near her when she's got one of those she'll growl at you and drag it under the bed. Seriously, it's bizarre!

Mine never had either, until I heard somewhere that cats go mad for it. So I tried it, and they did!! Made the clicker-training somewhat easier with Sashka when I found out there IS a treat that exists that she'll do anything for!!
It was the only way I was able to teach her to stop eating the TV cords!

LOL! You can buy them by the kilogram. They're about $2 per kilo - but I usually just buy three or four necks and freeze them, and every few days I'll chop one up into manageable pieces and give them to her. She goes absolutely NUTS for them! Sunday doesn't like them, so Sashka gets them all to herself!

I'm just sitting here thinking of things like tripe and pig's trotters, you know, the kind of stuff you look at in the supermarket and wonder who the heck buys it?! Having said that, I tried venison tongue once and it was delicious!

Wasn't brave enough for the head cheese though. Couldn't believe it when I found out what it was made of!

Tiger is like that with Doritos. He will take one out of your mouth if you're not careful
And if he doesn't get one, he will lick the cheesy powder off my fingers and bite.... HARD.... so I end up giving in and letting him have one so he lays off my digits

I remember Sashka once did something like that - she jumped up on the bench, stole JUST the ham out of the sandwich I was making, and had it under the bed and gone in the time it took me to get a knife out of the drawer. My head was spinning she did it so fast!!
