My husband and I came home from Xmas vacation to discover that our cats had gotten stuck one night (according to the woman coming in to take care of them) in our bedroom, and had peed on our bed. She let them out, etc, and everything was fine after that.
The sheets smell like pee, the comforter cover, the mattress. But they were dry. What can I do to clean things up? I've been reading that you need to do more than cover up the smell, that you need to counteract it because cats can still smell it. But most of the links have to do with carpets, not mattresses and sheets.
So, I'm assuming that running everything through the washing machine with standard soap won't cut it, right? And what do I do to clean the mattress? Spray Nature's Miracle on it?
