I'm just wondering how many people make New Year's Resolutions, and if so, what are they?

I decided not to make any this year. I never keep them. I never even get started on them most of the time! LOL

So instead I decided earlier that I'm going to change some things about my life. I'm going to keep trying to lose weight, and keep trying to "encourage" hubby to lose weight too. Nothing drastic - no diets or exercise regimes because I know I won't stick to those. Just some minor changes like cutting back on portion size for now. I can do that.

I'm also working on quitting smoking. It's really not that big of a deal, as I was only smoking 5-6 cigarettes a day.
Does that even count as being a smoker? LOL But so far I've cut it down to 3 a day. It's more of a habit than an addiction. I'm used to smoking on the way to work, now one at lunch, and on the way home (I used to have one each way at lunch, and one before bed). So I'm working on breaking the habit of smoking.

So - anyone else? Resolutions or just decisions?

My New Year's resolutions have to do with getting out of debt or at least paying my debt down and eating healthier. Thankfully I already have plans in place so hopefully I'll succeed with them this year.

Well, I usually always make "a" resolution, and it's usually always the same one. Uh-huh, y'all know the one I'm talkin' 'bout. The "lose weight" one
. But this year I mean it
! *sigh* We'll see if by the time June rolls around if I've been at all successful.

It is unusual for me to make them, but this year I am getting married and I just happened to have a wedding dress that I got real cheap under my bed. I can fit into it, but its very tight, so...
1) I intend to lose a few pounds
2) I intend to go back to Curves to help me with resolution #1
3) I intend to read more instead of watching TV (and snacking)

'm also working on quitting smoking
Good luck Heidi!
So would it more annoying or helpful to write down our resolutions here so that we can encourage and remind each other throughout the year?

I used to make them, but I never kept them once the novelty wore off. Now I don't make any. I think if you wait around for the start of something--whether it's New Year or Sunday --you're already putting it off already. People who really want it, will start today.

I usually do but they fail rather quickly. This year both Trav and I have promised to get rec passes and work out more and eat better. My other one is to get my debt down A LOT and not spend so much money. GEEZ! Now I hope I can keep them cause that sounds like a lot!

I haven't done it often, and it never worked, so my only resolution now is not to make New Year's Resolutions.
