Hypnotic cell phone

Found out Skinny gets literally into a trance when the light on the cellphone goes on when I get a text or call. She stares and stares at it until it goes off.
It happened again when the unit of a friend lit up as she jumped on the coffee table. She froze on her tracks. If it weren't so funny to watch, I'd say it's fascinating.
Anyone has an idea why? I hope it's not like cats outdoors being hypnotized by oncoming traffic lights.

My cat goes nuts over our answering machine - as soon as I play back a message and lift the top up, he's right there waiting for me to hit 'erase', then he watches the tape (this thing is 15 yrs old) rewind, then click, and beep when it resets and the light goes on again.

When I take their pictures, Sophie and Cassie both go nuts about the red light that illuminates before the flash goes off. Must be something about lights!

Skinny is communicating with the Cat Planet using your cellphone. You didn't know cats are an alien species plotting to take over the earth? And have already very nearly succeeded?

Sadie & Dexter have seized control of my life. I must do their bidding....

Luna's does react when it goes off, but will come seek me out when I'm on the phone. I think my phone emets some sort of soothing signal when its on. As most of the time I'm on it, she's curled up in my lap.

Hey I do not know what is up with that. My cat gets into a rock hard sleep when she lays on the dryer when it's runing. I think all cats have their CRAZY thing and Skinny's is the light on your cell phone

My cat loves the sound of the paper shredder, she comes running from anywhere in the house to sit beside it. It's kind of weird because I think it sounds like the vacuum, which she doesn't like. Sometimes I shred things just to amuse her. She has me well trained.
