Fwan be careful with the cuts when they scab. Put vitamin E oil or something like that on them, don't put makeup over them, until they are completely healed. I am speaking from experience, Cole got my top lip a few years ago and I wasn't careful, now I have a scar there.

Ouch! One of my 2 got me inside my lip before. I sympathize with your swollen lip! I walked around sporting 'the pouty look' for Christmas when my niece threw her head back and wacked me! Had a nice huge red bruise too! I'm just glad she didn't knock my teeth loose!

I totally agree with Mom of 10 Cats - don't try to cover up the scratches with anything, just let them fully heal. I once tried to cover up some bruising with makeup and ended up getting an infection in the original wound! The salt and warm water rinse will help with cleaning and avoiding infection, also. Poor, poor thing! I'm so sorry that happened. Your Teufel should know better than to hurt his meowmy; you were only trying to show him you loved him!
Heal up soon, Fran!

Oh, well, at least you won't have risk of scarring showing on the outside.
The salt water can burn, but my dad always used to make me gargle with it to kill germs. Good luck, Fran... A true ouchie indeed!

Fwan, is it showing signs of getting infected? Those scratches don't sound good.

Oh please, don't try to play with their belly, they will get mad. That is their private part of the body.

Sometimes they will let you pet their big fat belly though.

After
at you yesterday, I just remembered the time that rocky was cuddling with me on my pillow, and then moved very suddenly. My ear had a huge scratch in it!!! Talk about painful and bloody.

Fwan, if it is inside your mouth I would recommend gargling with warm salt water (1/4 tsp of salt in 8 oz of water) every 4-6 hours. That will help to prevent infection. That's my professional nursing opinion
