Since I want my cat to associate the car and her carrier with good things I took her my temple where I volunteer a few days a week. I set up a portable litter box and an eating center and she had a great time exploring and getting attention from a few other people. I explained to them that I was doing this to socialize her and they were not to pick her up or touch her alot unless she approached them - you know how people want to cradle kittens... and after a while she even let someone rub under her chin.
she had a blast with all the places to climb and enjoyed being with me instead of home alone. She also enjoyed getting home again and during this outing no one gave ger a needle or stuck instruments in any of her openings... It was a good day.
