Next year we can try some new ones!
* * * * * * * *
Homemade Eggnog
12 large eggs
1-1/2 C white sugar
12 C milk (I use powdered milk; recipe originally calls for whole milk)
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
If you want to add alcohol to this recipe, it originally calls for 2 C brandy and ½ C rum
Whip eggs in blender. Add sugar gradually and beat until it dissolves. Add milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. May be refrigerated up to 24 hours before serving or stores, covered, in refrigerator for up to 6 days. Run through blender to foam before serving.

Swedish Fruit Soup
1-3/4 C mixed dried fruits (11 oz pkg)
½ C raisins
2 tsp cinnamon (or 3-4 sticks)
4 C water
1 medium orange, unpared, cut in ¼ inch slices
2-1/4 C unsweetened pineapple juice
½ C currant jelly (I usually substitute red plum jam, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s MUCH cheaper!)
¼ C sugar
2 T quick cooking tapioca
¼ tsp salt
Combine all ingredients in crock pot and simmer for about 2-3 hours.
If you want to cook on stove top, combine mixed dried fruits, raisins, cinnamon and water. Bring to boil, then simmer uncovered until fruits are tender, about 30 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; bring to boil. Cover and cook over low heat 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
This can be served hot or chilled, but I have only ever served it hot. And even though it SOUNDS unappetizing, I've coaxed a lot of people into trying it and wound up giving them the recipe. LOL
