We are soooo excited!
Our first Great grand baby was born early this morning. There were some problems, so they induced labor about 3 weeks early.
He weighed in at 4 pounds 11 ounces. His name is Skyler Samuel Flowers.
Both mommy and baby are doing fine.
Our daughter (can`t believe she is a grandma now!) said that she stood outside the door listening and all she could hear when they announced the birth, was her son, Steven (our grandson) crying out loud for joy. Then she heard them suction the baby...and he joined the chorus with his daddy!
She said he may be small, but he has GREAT lungs!
I`d be worried about his size, but a granddaughter we had 10 years ago was born at 5 months gestation only weighed 1 pound and 6 ounces and you`d never know it to look at her now!
At 4 lbs 11 oz he is almost 3 and 1/2 times her birth weight...so he`s a BIG BRUTE by comparison!
I`ll post pics when we get them!

He he he...Gee THANKS! (Actually I`m only 55, so probably should`nt be a GREAT Grandma yet....but that`s what happens when you "start young"!)
Thank you all for the congratulations .

Oh Congratulations! That is so wonderful! I am so happy for you and your family! I can't wait to see pictures!

I think it's kinda cool that your only 55 and a great-grandma. My mom is almost 50 and will be waiting a big longer (like till 2010-2012 is my plan) to become a grandmother. You'll have more active years to watch them grow up and play with them and things. I think that is fantastic!

Congrats! And you are right, 4 lbs is plenty big enough, in this day and age! Thank goodness for medical advances! He will be crawling around pestering Toby and Tedy before you know it!

Well....my daughter sent me pics of the baby in an email...and I put them in my documents and then tried to submit them into Photobucket so i could post them for you to see. (He IS darling! GREAT grandma`s are allowed to brag, right?) but....I can`t get them to come up on Photobucket.
Anyone know what I`m doing wrong?
