Hey Everyone,

I wrote a post about my cat Higgins having blood in his stool. Well went I went on vacation for thanksgiving. I took my two cats to the vet for a stay there and I explained to them what was happing. When I went to pick them up they said Higgins was fine. His stool was firm and no blood, However now it is back to the way it was before. I was feeding them Purina One, now i switched to natural choice/nutro max because i heard it was good. Well last night I came home and omg you can smell the litter (hasnt been in there that long), i scooped and looked at the stool. And i saw blood in there. And I had them do a fecal test on Higgins back in sept for the same thing. And they said he didnt have anything. I was wondering if he maybe had coccidia, and if it would hurt to just get him de-wormed for this, just in case he may have it and they can't pick it up in the fecal test. Also while higgins was there for thanksgiving, they feed him the En Diet food, so maybe i need to feed him only that. Any thoughts

Thanks
Nicole

If they checked him at the vets and he was fine, it is likely it is the food you are feeding. I would switch him to what the vet feeds slowly, but I would switch.

most vets recommend science diet, but it's pretty expensive. if you can't find it, most vets have some in stock in the waiting room or whatever.

That is my recommendation too... cats are very sensitive to switches ... I do beleive at the vets he was on a Rx diet ....
