One of my babies has loose bowels.
I try to notice when they go to the litter box. It MIGHT be Humble, but I am not sure.
Could it just be like a stomach virus? I was gone for 5 days and someone took care of them, and they were fed all of their food at once instead of how I do it, a little at a time throughout the day. Should I just monitor theM both or take them in tomorrow for a checkup?
I don't want to panic.

Both cats seem to feel okay otherwise and are eating normally.
I usually feed 3 times a day, a spoonful or so at a time.

They both are drinking water.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Bobbie

cats are picky with food and eating sometimes. sounds like that is probably what the problem is. As a spoonful of food 3x a day enough? I know serving sizes are only like 1/2 a cup a day and with my poor math and converting skills, I am not sure how many spoonfuls that would be...what kind of food do you feed? that is always important too.

It could be stress related from you being gone. Could also be the feeding issue. Could also be something else. I'd watch overnight or until the next day and if it continues, call the vet and/or take the kitty in.

Oh I forgot to say if the diarrhea continues, watch that they do not get dehydrated. check by scruffing their necks and if the skin goes right back into place they are ok but if it stays up then get them to a vet fairly quickley. They can deteriorate fast from dehydration.

Thank you!

My cats weigh 13.5 pounds each, are totally indoor cats, and are on a diet.
They are healtyh otherwise.

I was gone for 5 days, for the first time in a year.

I am thinking it was stress.

I am watching them.

I will let you all know what happens.

I really appreciate ALL of your responses.

It helps a lot.

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
Bobbie just last week Rosie had an upset tummy, so MA told me to get some natural live yogurt to settle her stomach because it could have been from a number of things that she was like that.

She wouldn't lick it from the spoon so i ended up dabbing bits of it around her mouth and smearing it all over her paws just so she would lick it off, and thankfully it was just a one off, but i did the yogurt thing for about 3 days.

Hope it settles down soon

I took them to the vet this morning. No fever, tummies feel ok, but he is keeping them today and is withholding food and water. He is separating them, too. but at my request, put them where they can see one another.
He did a fecal test; Humble has loose stools. Shenandoah doesn;t.
I am to call at 4:30 and see if he wants them to spend the night.

He is also doing a stomach xray to see if anything is there.

I miss my boys. They are my children and are a HUGE part of my life. I am desolate without them.

Please pray for them.

I will tell you all what the vet says. Thanks to all of you!

They have bladder stones. The vet said they are sending them off and weill see what's up. It might be taken care of by changing their diet. He'll let me know. They are giving them antibiotics and are keeping them overnight. I can get them tomorrow afternoon.

I am scared.

So glad you took them to the vet! Also glad that they have (hopefully) found the cause of the problem. Thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery for your babies.

I just talked to the vet.
Shenandoah is ok and can come home this afternoon after more antibiotics.
Humble has still had some bad diahrrea anbd will have to stay tonight, too.
I am to call this afternoon and will then find out about the crystals as well.

I am feeling good about Shenandoah but am woried about Humble.
The vet is going to take another picture of Humble this evening to see if anything else is going on there.
Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you. I am waiting for a call from the vet to see if they know what kind of crystals these are.
