How long do you play with them to tire them out?

As I mentioned in another post I got a new laser poniter last night & the cats & I were having a blas.
Well I played with them for a 1/2 hour (Maggie hogged it a lot but everyone got a turn or two) They still woke me up at 3:30 AM this morning. I'm wondering how long it takes to actually make them tired enough to let me sleep until at least 5 AM?

really depends on the cat. Twenty minutes of good, hard interactive play is usually sufficient if you leave it with a nice meaty treat at the end- a reward for their preying. Otherwise, you leave them in hyper mode wanting more because there was no trophy at the end of the hunt.

I do about 3-4 10-15 minute sessions with Seth. She still plays at night time, but by herself. I leave out some rattle balls and some things like that so she can kick them around when she gets bored while we are asleep.
