My cat Wayne has a fat lower lip. This happened once before and the vet said he thought it was an allergic reaction to plastic bowls. That was about a year ago and Wayne now eats from ceramic bowls and just yesterday I noticed the fat lip again. My Mom is taking him to the vet today but I was wondering if anyone has heard of this. It's his lower lip right in the center.

Others may have different experiences, but I have heard that certain types of ceramic can be equally as bad as plastic. Try using only clear glass (I use Pyrex pinch bowls - 3 for a buck at the local dollar-type stores) or stainless steel and wash it thoroughly in hot water and soap between each use.

Thanks! Wayne went to the vet this morning and he said it was an allergic reaction to something??? He's not sure what?

He has been eating out of the same dishes now for 2 years and this is only the second time this has happened. If he were allergic to the ceramic would't this happen all the time.

Thanks for the replies
