I just finished reading Hissy's recommended book (Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats... it's great, even if you don't have a sick cat) and was thinking about the various vegies that are out there that cats might like.

I only started thinking about this tonight so I don't really know what my cats like, but Toulouse likes broccoli if it's got some flavoring on it.

What do your cats eat?

Mine like pumpkin; it's something one of my older sisters gives to her quite elderly cat Claire to keep her from getting stopped up, so out of curiosity I thought I'd just see if my cats would eat it too—and they will! The cat I had as a teen liked canned green beans.

Otherwise, none of our current cats seem to care for veggies. The oldest, Ace, and the smallest kitten, Smidge (also known as Little Miss), have a sweet tooth, though. Despite that article that came out a while back explaining why cats don't like sweets.

Toby and tedy both like the leaves off the celery...and they will nibble on (and play with ) a piece of broccoli.

Our Tedy came to us from a family with 4 kids...so maybe that`s were he acquired his "sweet tooth". I don`t give him sweets though, as I don`t want him to have rotten teeth....but he sure does beg when we have anything that smells sweet...and once in awhile we let him lick our fingers after we`ve eaten a "goodie".

Oliver LOVES tender leafy greens - spinach is his favorite, but he likes leaf lettuce a lot too. He doesn't like romaine quite as much, I guess because its tougher.

Tripod will eat greens if Oliver is.

Reilly seems to hate all fruits and veggies. All you have to do is show him one (an orange, angle, lettuce, celery) and he hisses.
he is so weird sometimes!

I don't think I've ever tried to give Harley veggies, or that he's ever tried to eat them off my plate?

Hmmm....he's weird sometimes, I can't give him something to try, he has to try it on his own, he's got a mind of his own, thats for sure!

Jamie likes (and will beg for) mushrooms, pumpkin, and mashed potatoes. He'll eat carrots and spinach, too.

Mine love onions!!!
Just kidding, guys!!!.....DON'T give your cats onions, they're toxic!!!! I did just give my cats a can of Nutro's chicken casserole and it had little peas and carrots in it, and they DEVOURED it! I'm surprised they didn't eat the plate! I've given mine a little cooked brocolli, caulifower, and peas. I don't really give it to them much anymore.

Here... or There... Hmmm
Kitters will absolutly go bonkers for a leaf from the broccoli!!! Not so much the flower part but the leafs off the stalk!! She also loves lettuce but only eats a little piece, and I know it's not a vegtable necessarily but she would kill for rose petals daily. Got flowers for the wedding and they are in the fridge as usual because as soon as we walked in the house with them she started telling me how much she would really like to have a bite of them!!!
So as with all flowers entering the house, my fridge is a beautiful bouquet!

Blondie loves corn, especially corn on the cob. Merlin likes potatos, but only as potato chips. She also eats bananas!
