In the past 18 months, my county had a pilot TNR program. 1953 cats were spayed/neutered, including 730 that were removed from their colonies and adopted out by the two rescue organizations involved.
We have a lot of rural areas, so this included a LOT of barn cats. Many families who otherwise would not have been able to spay/neuter the many cats on their property, brought them in to be TNR'ed. 248 colonies were stabilized.

Yeah! I'm glad you posted, because then I checked the numbers for McHenry County, and was quite surprised! It feels good to have helped at a few of the spay/neuter clinics!
It is amazing to think of all these people in all these communities, speutering all these cats! What a difference it must be making to the colonies. And the kitties are so beautiful! I urge everyone to check if they have a TNR movement going on in their area. It really is a great opportunity to help!
Our clinic only does their spay/neuter day every so often, but we altered around 100 this year....every little bit helps I guess!

Absolutely...perhaps this year your clinic will spay/neuter 200.
