On 12/26/01 something amazing happened.....a beautiful, sweet, tabby kitten came into this world........He was named Emmet......
As Emmet watched all his brothers and sisters get adopted to loving families,He wondered when it would be his turn, for he had so much love to give......
Finally after praying everynight that he would go to a good home......A women named Jamie came, and decided she would take Emmet home.....
With apprehensive excitement Emmet kissed his mother good-bye before being scooped up by the strange Jamie lady....Emmet could hardly contain his joy...He was going to his new home........
When he arrived at his new residence...he was surprised to see that the Jamie lady had a cat already.....A spoiled cat named Vader...Who the Jamie lady seemed to adore w/ all her heart.....Emmet was excited about having an older brother, and looked forward to all the things that he might learn......
Vader on the otherhand, wanted nothing better than to flush this pesty intruder down the toilet....Alas vader had no thumbs, so He came up w/ a better idea.......
Vader begain to show Emmet "The ropes"......First he showed emmet how to dig up the Jamie ladys plant....First Vader jumped in, and cautiously looked around...and begain to dig all the dirt on the floor....Emmet watched in amazement, as dirt and leaves sprayed into the air.........When Vader saw the look on Emmets face he smirked...got out of the pot, and let his "little bro" have a go.........
Like a kid in a sand box, Emmet went to work on the plant.....Emmet was very smart and picked up on this very easily.....While Emmet dug furiously he was startled by a cry....It was Vader...He was crying at the Jamie ladies door....This got Emmet to dig even harder....He wanted to show his new mommy how well he could dig up this plant..............
But it was not praise he recieved when jamie opened the door, rather a scoulding, he was then sent to bed without his supper........while the sneaky vader dinned on his favorite treat.... twinkies.......
From then on Emmet was blammed for everything whether he did it or not, and he was always punnished...he went to bed at night sore and hungry...for he was not fed, and continually wacked w/ the broom.........And when she grew tired of punnishing Emmet she would enlist her evil, coniving, smelly brother to dish out abuse
Emmet came to realize that his new "Mommy" was not a mommy after all, but was in fact an evil monster............
But what was a sweet kitten to do....He had no where to go...Not knowing a soul in the world....All he could do was sit and ponder as to why he deserved all this pain.......
Then one day something unexpected happened...A girl and her beau moved into the apartment...For jamie had spent all her money on frivolous things, and could not afford the rent......
Emmet was worried, for he had not seen kindness come from the human race...He felt he needed to be cautious around this strange couple..........
The new girl worked overnight at a gas station to pay the rent while her boyfriend went to school so that he could one day give them both a better life.....Tired an exausted they would come home....but to their dismay they saw that the sweet Emmet had not been fed.....So although their bed was calling them....they got dressed and ventured to the store, to get Emmet the food he so desperatly needed.....
Emmet saw and appreciated this act of kindness, and decided to give the couple a chance.......
From then on they were fast friends, The boy would play w/ Emmet for hours, and taught him to stick up for himself when he was assaulted by Vader....And the girl would lay awake at night petting Emmet softly as he drifted to sleep..swearing to him that one day when she has the money she would take him from this awful place and give him the life that he deserved........Emmet was finally feeling loved.......
One day, Emmet lay on his new friends bed awaiting their arrival home....He missed them but knew they would be home any minute......Suddenly he heard the front door open...With glee he jumped off the bed, to meet them in the hall.....But it was not his friends at all...It was the monter Jamies evil brother, and he was heading towards Emmet........
Emmet tried to flee but it was too late....The monster brother had caught him, and proceeded to tourture Emmet....Emmet tried to cry out, but it was no good, This was too much for him....He knew this was the end...he could do nothing but to await his demise..........Untill he saw........
A silloutte in the door, he raised his hurting head up to see what was making the shadow.........Hope lifted his heart when he saw it was his new friends....Emmet escaped the evil boys clutches and ran to hide behind the girls legs..........
Anger filled the couple and a battle insued, Emmet was scared his friends would get hurt......But they survived, and within seconds they had sccoped up a frightend Emmet, and fled the house...........
The boy and girl cried over what had happened to Emmet...and vowed to care for him like he deserved........ Emmet listened intently to their conversation.......He finally felt safe...he was going to his new home..........
Unfortunetly it was not a home he went to, but a cold feeling bulding, w/ lots of upset animals....It was called, Emmet learned from the doberman next to him...The vet......
A women in a white coat came out and took Emmet from the girl.......What is happening? Emmet thought to himself.....How can this be, my friends have left me, left me here....And emmet was alone again.......
The vet prodded,poked, and pinched the depressed Emmet, but nothing could be as bad as the moment his new friends left him.......And then "Ouch"....and Emmet fell asleep......
He awoke a few hours later from a groggy dream...what had happened??? had he slept???......
W/ his eyes still barely opened he was brought back into the waiting room....and handed off to another person, he was then brought out of the Vets office and into a car............
He tried to muster up the courage to see who held him...but knew it could not be worse then where he had already been...with a sign he raised his heavy head to meet eyes w/ his "capture".......
Emmet gasped...was he seeing things....was he hallucinating...His eyes saw the girl....his friend....but his heart wouldn't believe it....he stared at her intently....blinking to clear his eyes.......
He truly did see the girl.....and w/ tears in her eyes she leaned over kissing him softly on the head...."I love you Emmet" she whispered.............
With his heart ready to burst, Emmet driffted off into a sweet slumber...For he knew they were his friends no longer....but were now Mommy and Daddy.....
