Still no sign of him.
After more than 2 weeks, it's getting more difficult to hope that he's coming back!
In the meantime, I have taken to keeping Cassie strictly indoors. She's using her litterbox without problem, and loves exploring the basement. Sophie and Cassie are still separated in this way.
I just don't think I have the heart for a cat outdoors anymore.

I was hoping for good news when I saw your post. You cannot give up hope yet! Even lost housecats come back after just two weeks. It is very painful to have to be wondering, though, isn't it?

Come home, Percy, and let your Momma know you are ok. She is worried sick!

I know everything you say is true. He's just never stayed gone this long, and I get these "feelings" when it comes to my animals. Unfortunately, my feeling this time isn't a good one.

Percy has been the smartest of all the outdoor cats that have come into our lives since we moved out here four years ago. I'm still hoping that his wise ways have worked to his advantage and he will find his way home.

Thank you so much for understanding.

PERCY IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I let the dog out this morning, came back in to feed everyone....and a movement in the window caught my eye. It was Perseus!!!!! He's home! He looks fat and sassy and healthy!

Needless to say, I called my husband, who is out on the road at work, woke him up and told him the good news!

YAY!!! I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!

He looks huge to me!

Now, want the funny part of the story? I'm still trying to figure this out, maybe Katie can help me....
Percy is neutered. Has been since he was 6 months old.
This morning, as I saw him in the window, the first thing I noticed was his ear...the tip was gone! I thought, surely not, no way....a TNR????
Well...I think that is exactly what happened. It's a clean cut on his left ear, just like Angel's was, just like every other TNR cat I have seen.
It would explain why he looks so darn good after being gone almost 4 weeks, too. I mean, this cat looks extremely well-fed and clean for a cat that has been MIA that long, seriously.
Would a TNR eartip him if he got in one of their traps and they got him all the way to the clinic only to realize he's already neutered? I'm tempted to call someone up there and ask them!
I don't really care. All I know is he is home and safe. What great news to give my boys when they came back from their dad's today!!!

Is he microchipped? Would TNR microchip him?
I wondered that myself.

I mean, did you get him chipped? If he's outside, maybe you should (If TNR hasn't done it) and then if he's trapped again they can scan him and hopefully stop your worrying next time! Something to think about, eh?
I'm glad he's home!!
