cat adoption in Chartlotte, NC?

After my sister met my cat she's considering getting one. Any recommendations for adoption agency's in Charlotte, NC??? Please e-mail if you can. I'm at my parent's house and they have dial-up (ugh!) and getting in to the forum is ssssllllloooooowwww!

I would go to Petfinder:

click on the shelter and rescue groups link and then find ones that are in your area. I also recommend going to adoption events that are usually help at local pet stores (such as Petcos and Petsmarts)

Depending on where in Charlotte,

Gaston County SPCA is a great place. They have resuced many tough case abuse cases...including one little guy who got shot in the face with a .22. they brought him back to health and adopted him out to one of the workers there. Very compasionate people there.
