I have shared my home with one or more cats for the past 25 years. To date I have one Longhaired Tabby who we rescued from the same animal shelter as our German Shepherd Dog. We lost our last cat earlier this year to kidney disease. He was 14 years old and we still miss him dearly. Hope to share info. about our new LH Tabby and meet a lot of other cat lovers.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I will try to post some pics later today. Our new kitty has a personality all her own, not quite like any cat we have ever had before. One thing's for sure, she makes me laugh and lifts my spirits every day.

Yes I am what you would call a cat fanatic.
I truly love both my furkids, dog and kitty, but have always felt my home would never be the same without a feline companion.

huggles: I might visit the Rainbow Bridge forum a little later. I can usually offer other people sympathy but sometimes have difficulty bringing up memories of my own cats who have passed to the bridge. Jan. 7 will be exactly one year since we lost our beloved Persian and I can hardly believe it's been almost one year.

Hi, Neely!
I found this site after the loss of my own precious furbaby this past summer.
You will definitely find many people here who care and understand!
Welcome to TCS!

Thanks so much for the welcome, everyone seems so gracious. I plan to post a tribute to my beloved Neeko on the one year anniversary of his passing (Jan. 7). He passed away on a Friday and I never left the house all weekend.
As difficult as it is for me, he was the only kitty my daughters ever knew so it will be very tough for them as well.
