Cat in heat

Hey everybody,
I'm about to phone a vet cause my cat's in heat so I'm making an appointment to get her fixed. Any suggestions on how to make things a little easier on her? I'm going to my parents for a few days and am not sure whether I should get her spayed and then take her out there for the first time (it will be a very busy house). But on the other hand I don't want her moaning all night when everyone is trying to sleep. I've never seen a cat right after getting so I don't really know what to expect.
Any comments/suggestions?

I would board her at the vet and get her spayed, but that is just me.

I agree with Hissy - you can get her in to the vet for her spay and let her board for the few days you will be away from home. She will be fine, well-looked-after and no one has to endure the howling.
