... I'm sad and pathetic.

I stayed home sick from work today and all day I just bummed around feeling sorry for myself and wanting my MOM!!!!

I am almost 25 and I just want to pick up the phone and tell my mom she NEEDS to come see me to make me some soup and tea!

Boy hubby is going to be offended when I tell him on the phone tonight "yeah, I miss you but I want my mommy".

Beth, I think he'd be more offended if he was home and you only wanted your mommy.

That's okay, there is nothing wrong with that! That's what mothers are for, you silly!! You're not supposed to just totally ignore them for the rest of your life once you are grown up. It's okay to want your mommy once in awhile.

And we really can't blame you for being sad...anybody would be if they were in the same situation as you. I hope you feel better soon, maybe you should do something for yourself or talk to you DH about it when he calls, or when you call.

Oh, nothing wrong with that at all. There's being independent, and there's needing cheering up. I ALWAYS call my mom when I'm sick. Just hearing her voice makes me feel better. I have special remedies from her too that I always use. I have a special blanket for when I'm sick, I have a special bowl for soup, a special cup for tea, and I always take a bath and get jammies and warm socks on, curl up on the couch and veg. All mommy's rules..
The only thing I never do that she tells me, is eat soda crackers and drink 7-UP. I hate 7-up and those are the last things I want to eat when I'm feeling

Oh, and I forgot Vicks! What a cure! I sometimes just open it to smell it even when I'm not sick and it makes me feel good....weird?

I was just saying to a friend last night that moving back in with Mum and Dad for a couple of months this year was like a short visit to heaven on earth. Even though I'm 30

Living with your parents ROCKS! I can't understand why I wanted to get out so badly when I was younger....

There's nothing wrong with wanting your Mum when you're sick - after all, who looked after us all those years when it was still `ok' to want your Mum?

Aw, I hope you feel better, soon. I think you should call your Mom and let her know you miss her. It is hard at the holidays, to have dh gone, you are away from your family...and now you are feeling sick.

Here's a bowl of cyber home-made chicken soup for you! And remind your dh that many many people are so thankful for his work, and that he is in our prayers.

Under the cats, mostly.
My mum's the best when I get sick - obviously not now being so far away - but if I got sick, I never even needed to ask her to come over. She used to turn up to visit and then she'd see I was sick and then decide to stay! I love my mummy!! If I didn't have mum, I'd be somewhere bad in my life.

I always call my mum when i am sick even though she is in England and can't do anything for me... she thinks I do it to make her feel bad that she can't come over to see me

Beth, I think that's a perfectly natural reaction to the circumstances. I hope you're feeling better soon, and that being separated from dh over the holidays isn't too bad (I know it will be, but I'm sending vibes that you get through it okay).
