Is it good for a kitten or cat to be carted around between two houses like a dog?

I have a little kitty that as soon as I got I set up house in my house, and then 2 miles away at my grandparents- I spend about equal time at both places, she has her own litter box at both houses, and seems ok about the road travel...

I was thinking about buying one of those cute travel bags for her for the car- but if it is bad for her moral and if it isnt good for her- then I dont want to buy that, or do the back and forth anymore....

any suggestions?

If she is ok with it, I think it's great! Should you ever need to travel, she will have a home away from home that she will feel comfortable in.

I have heard a few folks managing to crate train a cat.... I do think travel is a great thing .... being okay with the "bag" is helpful later

I think it is totally fine. Some of my cats have been all over the place with me. If they get used to travel as youngsters then they will regard it as no big deal.

I spend Sunday's at my parent's house and 95% of the time take my cats with me. They seem to enjoy it alright. There's more room to run around there and they are used to the carriers so it's nice that they don't relate them only with going to the vet.

She'll probably get used to whatever you use would be my guess. I would be a little uncomfortable from a safety perspective on the soft carriers. I like the hard carriers because they can be strapped to the seat but that's your call.

I agree with what everyone else has said....if she appears to enjoy it and is relaxed about it.....go for it.
We travel extensively with our show cats and they love it. From riding in the car to checking out and exploring the hotel rooms, they have a great time.

Not all cats are like that, but it sounds like yours is perfectly comfortable with the arrangement, so take advantage of it and enjoy it.

My friend has a gorgeous ginger moggie.Because of the way she works Ever since she was a kitten she has stayed at a friends house for odd weeks, with her friends cats and viceversa (hope this makes sense)

Anyway bothe cats are equally at home staying in either house and are perfectly used to each other. I agree with what others have said as the cat gets used to it they should be fine.

There are some soft carriers out there that can strap to the seat. Mine is a "sherpa" and has a "luggage strap" on the back that you can slip the seatbelt through, or alternatively, through the stop "dufflebag" handles.
I agree. Safety really is the only consideration, and is done easily enough I think.
