My kitten of 10 weeks seems like it's choking like it's gonna throw up. It actually did throw up once and has choked about 3-4 times within the last 3 weeks. Everytime it chokes, I put it in it's litterbox but won't stay there. Tonight, I put it in my bathroom because there's no carpet in there. What should I do in situations like this? What is causing him to choke a lot?

He really needs to see a vet. Kittens have a habit of eating all kinds of stuff they might find on the floor or in the house. Putting him in a litter pan because he is choking is not as beneficial to him as putting him into a carrier and taking him to the vet because he is choking. If he is long-hair he could have hairballs, but a vet should see him.

I think it could be hairballs. Is there a way to try and control his hairball problem? He is fluffy.

Grooming him daily and talking to your vet so he can give him some hairball medicine, but again, a small kitten choking that much- should see a vet.

Better safe than sorry. Your kitty need to be checked by a vet right away, to rule our a serious problem.
Please do it & let us know what you find out.

Also if you are using clay litter, putting him in the litterpan could make him choke more (the dust). Hope you will take him to the vet soon so you can get some answers from someone who will know.

Gonna try and get him into the vet after the new year. I use Fresh Step Scoop litter as well.
