My big cat Kipper(a healthy 16 lbs) plays with my kitten a 1 lb himaylan a bit too roughly. I personally think they are just playing, untill the kitten lets out this cry of pain, and I look over, and Kipper has him pinned down and biting him all over.

These bites look harsh. I have felt my kitten for any bumps, and have found a couple little tiny bite marks. That scares me. What if Kipper bites him any harder? Could he break skin?

I have a comfort zone diffuser in 2 rooms, and Kipper has "soft paw" nail caps, To lessen the blows he lays on this little kitten.

Any help on this?? Like is there something I can do to stop him from biting? Or will he learn that the kitten isnt a chew toy?

Everytime I see this happening, I tell him firmly "NO KIPPER", and he usually backs off. But I am not here ALL DAY. So I dont know what happens when I'm gone. The kitten LOVES to play with Kipper, untill he gets hurt, and runs off under the couch(where Kipper can not get him)

He certainly can break skin. The fact that he hasn't done so yet shows he's holding back and just playing. But if he hasn't any experience playing with kittens he may not know how hard he can bite before causing harm. I think it would be a good idea to supervise these two and separate them when you can't.
