Ear Nibbling?

My little girl, Seth, has grown more and more loving towards me--nudging, rubbing, and even grooming my face when I'm napping or resting on the couch. She still has her occasional tantrum (usually when my hubby goes back to work after the weekend) where she bites the crap out of me, but we usually give her a 5-10 minute time-out so she can calm down when that happens.

So, anyway, I was watching television a few minutes ago, stretched out on the couch--and she started grooming my hair and then started nibbling on my ear! She wasn't hurting me, but I made her stop because we don't allow her to nibble on us in any form. Would this be classified under the "love nips" that everyone talks about? Or has anyone else had this happen?

Definately sounds like love bites to me!!!

Also, she was grooming you, so she was prolly just nipping you to make sure you were extra clean! Have you seen your cat biting itself while grooming? Well, I'm sure this is just the same thing!

I haven't really paid attention as to whether she nibbles when she grooms herself... I'll have to keep closer eye on it!

Even though I had to stop her from doing it, I feel privileged that she's feeling comfortable enough with me to groom me and nibble me!

Update: I watched her grooming her paws and arms this morning, and she does chew/nibble on herself after every few licks!
