I was petting Opal and she started acting like she was going to cough something up, but she didn't. Then all of the sudden a bunch of white sudsy bubbles came out of her mouth. This is the second time tonight it has happened. The first time, I wasn't sure what was going on because she was in her condo and was shaded, but it just looked like her nose was running and she was licking it. When she came out of it, I went in there to check and there were wet spots on the pillow. After seeing her do it, I'm sure that's what she was doing earlier too.

Anyone have any ideas? I came here first hoping someone has had the same thing happen.

Purr has this kitten even seen a vet since she arrived?

That sounds like she is drooling ... if she tried to cough or regirgitate, then my thought is that she may have something stuck in her throat/esophagus and I think that since she is still somewhat new to your home, the best thing to do is to go ahead and get her in to be seen.

No, but she had a certificate of health from the vet before flying here. I just wanted to wait until she calmed down a little before I took her to my own vet.

She ate her new food tonight for the first time, so I thought that could be it, but her breeder fed her the same thing.

I wondered about that too. I'll go ahead and take her to the vet then.

It is probably for the best ... you just don't know what these little sneakies can get into - one of the kittens brought me a length of gift ribbon this evening and I just about had a signifigant coronary event!

I'm taking her in a couple of hours. That's the soonest they could get her. This morning she was still bubbling but not like she was last night. She's sneezing too. I feel so so bad about taking her out in the cold and scaring her even more with a vet visit, but I know it's for the best.
Poor little baby. Wish her luck! She's going to bite the vet, too. I don't know what they do for biting cats, but I hope they don't have to restrain her or anything.

The vet said she has a URI and it was probably brought on by stress. He gave me Clavamox to give her, and gave her "Dex/Gentocin" shot. For her poopy, he gave me hairball stuff call Laxatone, and said if she doesn't go poo poo by Friday she might need an enema. He told me I could give her one at home, but he'll do it if I take her back, but they might need to put her to sleep first. So I hope she goes poopy.
