What's your favorite kitchen appliance?

Thread Starter
I'm talking small/countertop appliances, so fridge, oven, dishwasher and microwave don't count.

I adore my KitchenAid mixer. Now that I'm BIG into cooking and baking again, it's getting a lot of use and I do not know HOW I lived without it (have only had it for a year)! It's even yellow to match my kitchen colors!

How 'bout you?

The one we probably use the most is the breadmaker. My husband makes pizza dough in this all the time.

As far as small kitchen items, I woudl be lost without my small food thermometer.

I second the bread machine! Just love making my own bread.
I got a Sunbeam mixer- like the Kitchen Aid but cheaper and less colourful - but I find I just don't use it very much. I'll just have to make more cookies.

Torn between my food processor, electric Wok or crock pot here. Use all 3 regularly and would be lost without them.

i have a magic bullet blender, & i really like it - but couldn't live without my coffee maker, which i use to make tea!

(I am in love with my stand mixer! (As far as kitchen appliances go I mean. ) I used to hate that part of baking! So hard on the arms! Especially if you are making something that you need to beat for a while ya know? It's one of the best wedding presents I got!

I like my quesadilla maker! I also like those uncrimping can openers.

My little known kitchen fact? I have had the same mixing bowls for 25 years

I don't know we have nothing special just the usuals

My hand held mixer because without it, I'd have to hand mash potatoes...ew!

Hey Chris I have had my mixing bowls (set of 5) for over 20 yrs!!!
Anyhow I really like my imersion blender and the attachments that came with it.
But come Christmas I'll add another comment for a gift I am getting!! (can't spoil it already!!)

coffee maker without a doubt. Besides... I don't have many other small appliances. My kitchen is too small and I don't cook much just for myself anyway.

My Grandma has had her pots and pans since she and my Grandpa were married, 61 years ago! Now thoes are some good pots!

Yeah, a few of my favorite things are some of the stuff my mom passed down to me that I grew up with...soup bowls she used every time I was sick, a bowl she used for cookies...I will cherish these things and pass them down to my kids, with the forthought of teaching them about special memories, so they value them also....

I want a Black & Decker jar and bottle opener. With one of those, I won't need a man for ANYTHING.

And I have my mothers Waring blender from the 60's - probably pushing 40 years old and still kicking! LOL

OOOH! How could I forget the Smoothie Maker?!

Does my water cooler count? I can get hot ( it's really hot), cold or room temp water anytime I need it.

I also love my Cuisenart coffee maker. It's stainless and grinds coffee beans too.

Smoothie maker! I have a smoothie for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes snacks, so it gets a lot of use!

We use one of those rubber tourniquets they have at the hospitals. You'd be suprised how well it works. The secret is friction, not strength.

We got a deep fryer about a year ago which is pretty cool.

Does my turkey fryer count? I love doing turkey in that thing!!

My Delonghi Convection oven with rotisserie

It's not really an appliance but I would be lost without my Tupperware kitchen scissors. They are the BEST!

As for appliance, I would have to say the kettle. It is always in a state of just-about-to-be-boiled, boiling, or just-has-been-boiled at our place. We love our cuppas!

I love my deep fryer. I don't use it that often, but it's awesome for restaurant style Chinese chicken balls and better-than-restaurant chicken wings.

My favorite is my hand held mixer. I really get a lot of use out of it and there is little clean up afterwards.

I'd third the breadmaker if I had one!! Mum did and I loved that to bits. Almost literally. I think it would have to be the stacking steamer. That thing is a godsend!
