My cat has worms I do believe. Little white ones, plus she has a puss that is developing. I dont know how or if I can help without taking her to the vet. She is an inside and outside cat,I bought some OTC meds for cats with worms. Its supposta treat all kinds, Ive treated her twice at least but its still going on; Is there something I can also give her diet wise to help? I heard garlic but dont know how on earth I can get her to eat garlic. Any Suggestions, with it being christmas time I dont want to spend money on vets that I could spend on my childrens christmas presents.

TIA

Please do not treat this cat with anything over the counter. She needs to be seen by a vet so he can find out where the pus is coming from and also give her the pill that will take care of the tapeworms. Over the counter products do not work, should never be used so often anyway and can even harm your cat. Tell you children that in order to be a responsible pet owner, sometimes they will have to go without a new toy or two so their cat can stay healthy.

Tia...I agree with Hissy. Take her to the vet. If need be...ask if you can get on a payment plan.

Garlic can be very dangerous for cats so please don't try that one! It is considered a relative to an onion which causes anemia. Very dangerous. It sounds like she needs to be dewormed by a vet. Also, how old is he/she? Where is the pus coming from? This could be very serious if its pyo (would be appearing vaginally).... Could be life-threatening. I wouldn't take chances with this one...

Sometimes vets will allow you to be billed at a later date, usually if there is no blood work involved where they would have to pay the lab. Otherwise they might be reasonable if you explain your situation.

Pus is a potentially very serious sign. She needs to see the vet right away. I am sure your children will understand if they have to sacrifice a Christmas present or two so their cat will be okay. Please call the vet first thing in the morning to schedule an appointment.

This cat definitely has to be seen by a vet, not only for the worms, but also to find out where the pus is coming from. I'd be worried that one of my kids' Christmas presents would be tapeworms!
