I'm A Gram.....x3 :)

This morning while the house was all quiet, my son called me at work to tell me that Goldie has had 3 beautiful kittens. There are 2 solid orange and one gray tiger. Of course, I had to come home from work and see. They are magnificant! Momma is purring like a mad-man and the babes are all snuggled in nursing. Everyone looks fine and dandy. I guess she is 'done' ~ no experience in these matters.

Sometime between 10 am and 11 for the first 3 and this last one (so far anyways) about 2 pm. Hope this is OK?
Now have 3 orange and one gray!
Oh I'm glad this last one is okay, I was a little worried. I wonder if one of the Orange Tabbies might be a rare female!?!?
congratulations on your kittens! I love a litter of baby fuzzballs, but I have all boys at the moment.

Plus, since I'm not a breeder, it's probably not wise to keep an un-spayed queen anyway.

Are female orange tabbies rare? Like male calicos?
From what I understand, somewhere between 15% - 30% of orange tabbies are females. I don't know the exact amount but I'm think I'm pretty close.

They are all so beautiful - I got to see the last one born. They are all sleeping now sucking on a nipple and Goldie is also fast asleep. I will keep you posted minute by minute cause I am a freak!
As far as the sex thing........time will tell!

Congrats on the new babies !!!

Orange tabbies are the cutest My hubby is a bit partial to grey kitties actually- so you can just send us the whole litter in a few months

Congratulations!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see pictures!!!!

Oh we definitely want to see some pictures of these babies. They all sound soooo adorable. If I didn't live so far away I would want to adopt one or two.

We now have 5!!!! This has taken her about 8 hrs. But I think we are done cause I saw her eat something that did NOT resenble any thing I have ever seen! It looked like something else!

They are peeping and rooting around in there - yes I had to peek! Her condo is covered with a sheet for more security. The funny thing is that my cats are not paying any mind - but the DOG! WOW! Everytime one peeps, she is over there to see what is going on. I had to tape the sheet down in front. Oh, the great protector she is!

That seems like it took a long time. How long does it usually take for kittens to come? And is there only the one placenta? I guess I thought each kitten got its own. Interesting.

I'm glad they're all noisy and healthy and eating. Did you bring Goldie a plate of food? I did that with mine for a day or two and she seemed to really appreciate it. Moved the litter box closer for her too.

How wonderful it is to have kittens! I'm completely envious!

Sunlion - I have NO clue about these things! It is all new to me - but hopefully someone will know.
I am a nervous wreck - just imagine how I will be when I have human grand children!

Goldie has good and litter box in with her - she is not eating the food though - even though it is her fav......

It also took Sunshine a long time to deliver her 5!! I kept thinking, " this one is the last"........and they just kept coming!!!

Post some pics soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!! 5 new kitties...how fun! 8 hours does seem like a long time though, doesn't it? When my friend's cat had her litter, she had 3 kittens, and it took her under an hour to deliver. But, like us, it can vary in time, right? Have fun with all of them!

I will borrow a digital camera and get pis up as soon as I can. It is morning now and all are resting.....finally!
It sounds like Goldie did a wonderful job! Have you decided how many you will keep there with you?
Debra, Isn't it exciting to see new life? The "thing" was a placenta, and is good for Goldie. It's instinctive to destroy anything that might attract predators. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know! Just in case, though, when you look at the babies' private parts, a colon is a girl, and an exclamation point is a boy. Congratulations!
Congrats! I will take the grey one for you - to bad they don't ship well. It should be very interesting in your house for the next 6 to 8 wks!
What colors did you end up with? I saw the post for 3 orange and 1 gray, but you said there are 5. What was the last one?

How are they all doing? I bet Goldie is just so pleased with herself. Something about new kittens seems to make mamacats very smug and self-statisfied.

We got 3 orange and 2 gray. Ther are all doing good. Goldie allowed me to give her a dry clean bed today. She looks more comfortable. One of the orange roots around a lot looking for his supper - but I suppose he will do OK. I am going to get some kitty formula just in case.........
I am SO happy!
Ooooo! Congratulations! I'm excited just reading about it. Keep us updated as to what is happening. And yes, post some pics as soon as you can.

When I came home from work today, Goldie was in her litter box laying down and had all 5 kits in there with her! I took them out and put them back in their bed. What do you think?
Debra, Had you just cleaned the litter box until it was immaculate? I can't imagine Goldie taking them in there if it wasn't, because they want no odor that would let predators know there were babies. So, I'm thinking that if there was no odor in the litter, she might have wanted to "tear up" her nest. Often mommy likes to tear up paper, and we like to give them nice, fluffy beds for their babies. Oh, the problems of motherhood! Sandie, where are you??
Pooof..here I am No, seriously, she probably wanted a little less space for her and her kittens. Usually I give them a tupperware container or a box and line it with soft towels. They tend to feel a little more secure when they are in a somewhat enclosed space.
OMG!! Debra!!!! How Wonderful!!! Woooohoooo!!! Soooo exciting!! Oooo you MUST get pics soon!! Can you send me a kitty or two with my next shipment of Poptarts?!?!?!?!?!?
Ooooooweeee!!! Snuggles to all the new little furballs!!! CUUUUUUTE!!
