This morning while the house was all quiet, my son called me at work to tell me that Goldie has had 3 beautiful kittens. There are 2 solid orange and one gray tiger. Of course, I had to come home from work and see. They are magnificant! Momma is purring like a mad-man and the babes are all snuggled in nursing. Everyone looks fine and dandy. I guess she is 'done' ~ no experience in these matters.

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh!!! How much time has passed since the other 3 and the one(s) that are coming now. Let us know what the little babe(s) looks like!

Sometime between 10 am and 11 for the first 3 and this last one (so far anyways) about 2 pm. Hope this is OK?
Now have 3 orange and one gray!

Oh I'm glad this last one is okay, I was a little worried. I wonder if one of the Orange Tabbies might be a rare female!?!?

congratulations on your kittens! I love a litter of baby fuzzballs, but I have all boys at the moment.

Plus, since I'm not a breeder, it's probably not wise to keep an un-spayed queen anyway.

Are female orange tabbies rare? Like male calicos?

From what I understand, somewhere between 15% - 30% of orange tabbies are females. I don't know the exact amount but I'm think I'm pretty close.

They are all so beautiful - I got to see the last one born. They are all sleeping now sucking on a nipple and Goldie is also fast asleep. I will keep you posted minute by minute cause I am a freak!

Thanks!

Congrats on the new babies !!!

Orange tabbies are the cutest
My hubby is a bit partial to grey kitties actually- so you can just send us the whole litter in a few months

Enjoy those little bundles of kitty love!!

Oh we definitely want to see some pictures of these babies. They all sound soooo adorable. If I didn't live so far away I would want to adopt one or two.

We now have 5!!!! This has taken her about 8 hrs. But I think we are done cause I saw her eat something that did NOT resenble any thing I have ever seen! It looked like something else!

They are peeping and rooting around in there - yes I had to peek! Her condo is covered with a sheet for more security. The funny thing is that my cats are not paying any mind - but the DOG! WOW! Everytime one peeps, she is over there to see what is going on. I had to tape the sheet down in front. Oh, the great protector she is!

That seems like it took a long time. How long does it usually take for kittens to come? And is there only the one placenta? I guess I thought each kitten got its own. Interesting.

I'm glad they're all noisy and healthy and eating. Did you bring Goldie a plate of food? I did that with mine for a day or two and she seemed to really appreciate it. Moved the litter box closer for her too.

How wonderful it is to have kittens! I'm completely envious!

Sunlion - I have NO clue about these things! It is all new to me - but hopefully someone will know.
I am a nervous wreck - just imagine how I will be when I have human grand children!

Goldie has good and litter box in with her - she is not eating the food though - even though it is her fav......

Congrats!! 5 new kitties...how fun! 8 hours does seem like a long time though, doesn't it? When my friend's cat had her litter, she had 3 kittens, and it took her under an hour to deliver. But, like us, it can vary in time, right? Have fun with all of them!
