good question
i dont have an answer but i'm interested in hearing what people say. my cat stays in my room and recently i pulled out a candle (love the smell in the winter) but i know cats are very sensitive to smell, and wasnt sure that when I burn it, if she is hating it or doesnt mind. sometimes i need something to make this room smell good since she sometimes poops outside the box (i think she's just picky about the cleanliness of the box? still havent figured it out totally) and the door is always closed, so i like to burn a candle here and there or put in a plug-in. I know the cat experts here will know something... i dont want to irritate her... thanks guys

That would be the principle behind Feliway and some other products, wouldn't it?

They would probably like food scents, but it might also drive them nuts trying to find where exactly "Grandma's Kitchen" is.

I make sure my candles are made of soy wax because they burn clean (minimal soot)--don't want the stuff in their lungs!

I saw "calming" cat toys at the pet store the other day - the packets were filled with lavender scent - so maybe it does? I didn't try them to see if it worked or not, but I was certainly curious!

I don't burn candles here. To dangerous around such curious cats, but some holistic vets use aromoatherapy around animals with good results.
