Good luck on that. With all of the run-around, I don't want to see you have to deal with more hassle. I think we will all sigh with relief when you can gain some control of the situation.

Yeah a little control is all I want....I completly trust my Vet, she is incredible...and her name is Dr. Bird, what an awesome name for a Cat vet....lol...Iam sure if anyone can diagnose this situation she can

Well this whole situation as been an awful situation, but if it ends up in the end that Yinny can be helped, and not be in pain anymore it was all worth it.....

Thanx again

Ok Ok...I just got the paper work w/ yinny and I just read through it all.....

Heres the dilly......

Her senior blood work is perfect......her lungs, ears, eyes, heart, and palpate of the abdomen perfect......

And though she had suffered a significant weight loss she is at her perfect weight now and has mantained it......

Besides the diarreah...she seems to be completly healthy....they had her on Flagyl and then put her on 5mg of prednisone.....

Now here comes the kicker........
No where on the paperwork does it mention a possible Dx of cancer, and that they also thought IBD...their only reservation w/ it was her age.....stating that she seemed a little too old to be getting IBD......

Also in the paper work it said that they suggested a biopsy for a more concreate diagnosis, however the client (trish) declined and decided on a more cost effective Rx..........

Well whatever...I am not as peeved at the vet now that I can read that Trish is a liar......But I have this info now and Yinny will be seeing a vet next week.....

Just wanted to let you all know the info that I have recieved.....and I will update you as news comes.....Thanx again for all your prayers, advice, thoughts....and allowing me to vent.......

And I promise you one way or the other Yinny will be treated w/ the respect that a kit of her age deserves from now on.....

Thanx again

Thanx everyone.....

Yeah we are thinking it sounds positive as well.....

The only issue is cash.....We have up 250$ for the "Save Yinny" fund thus far....and my bithday is in a 2 weeks so all that money is going into that fund as well.....

We normally wouldnt have a money issue....Its just we recently put down our mone for the new apartment...so money is kinda thin now....

How ever w/ the money we have so far, plus brithday money....Plus any other money we can spare....Plus the fact that our vet is the coolest and will let us pay in installments we should be doing ok

Wish us luck

Just want to let you all know that Yinny is set up for an appointment tommorow at 11:00am....
So I will let you all know how it goes when we get home......

Everyone I talked to believes it is IBD.......Lets hope that is the case and that it can be treated effectivly....

Trish.....errrrr i want to hit her....I swear she has munchausen(sp) syndrome..She was trying to get John to feel bad for her because she has to clean up Yinny's waste......

AWWWW poor baby.......

John and I are furious w/ her

Have got everything crossed. Please dont' feel bad cos you couldn't do anything sooner, the important thing is that as soon as you were in a situation to do something, you have done.

..First off sorry it took so long for me to write back...I didnt sleep last night so I needed to do so after I got home......

Ok heres the dilly.........

Well we went to OUR vet....gosh i love her...shes the best..Dr. Bird at the feline hospital in Salem....if your ever here and need a vet I reccomend her....but anyways.......

So we got their and she looked over the records, and we discussed behavior, eating habits...etc.......

From there she gave us her three top possibilities....
1. IBD
2. Parasites
3. GI tract cancer....

So then she gave Yinny an exam...I was mortified to find out that she has lost 2 of her teeth, another one has a cavity, and another one is rotting out....
...But i guess that is for another time.......

She palpated her abdomen and didn't feel any tumors, but definitly felt a lot of gas........Her heart had a slight mummur, but her lungs sounded great......

Then she looked at her faxed over blood work........Well she has the bloodwork of a cat half her age... her thyroid was great as well...definitly not the look of a cancer kitty.....However her WBC's were up, and some test that indicates infammation was up...........

Because of these finding she then all but elliminated cancer...However the in question results did indicate IBS or parasites or both.........

Then we discussed contributing enviromental factors.....

well for one....As much as I have pled w/ Trish not to give Yinny any dairy....When trish is too lazy to go out and get babyfood for Yinny to take her prednizone in...she gives it to her in a bowl of wipcream....I kid you not....and as cats are lactose intollerent, this could definitly cause diarreah...

Next....Yinny has been on like 6 perscribed foods....plsu again when Trish is too lazy she gets whatever is at the local convience store....If this werent bad enough...Trish doesnt slowly change the food on her....But just changes it...and w/ Yinnys stomach being in the sensitive state it is...This could definitly cause diarreah.....

Now heres the kicker........The vet asked us what Yinny has been eating......We told her what we were told "Eukeneba low ash".........The vets jaw almost dropped....she explained that this food is perscribed for kittys w/ constipation or after surgery where a good part of the colon has been removed......As it is a stoll softening LAXATIVE...........WHAT????????.....So of course i am rip roaring mad at any incompetent vet that would perscribe that to a chronic diarreah kitty....Untill I talked to Trish after the appointment......

We told her the food was basically a laxative...and she says..."Oh that must be why Shuto is gaining all that weight back...I must have mixed up the food...(((giggle)))"............HAHAHA real freeking funny you idiot
......I have to say it took all that was in me not to go over there and end her life......

Dr. Bird was real awesome...You could tell she was just as mad as we were, and you knew she wanted to freak out about trish and the other vet too....but she stayed real proffesional.....She also commended us for brining Yinny there and told us not to feel bad as it was not our fault......

So to the treatment......
The vet gave her intravenous fluids, just to help w/ an hydration problems

Well we are slowly weening her off the laxative food and putting her on W/D which is a high fiber diet intended to give her stool some girth......I made up 8 baggies numbered w/ the right purportions...

She is on a 5 day dewormer (panocur)...to try to eliminate any parasite activity......

Then as she is already on 5mg of prednizone..we are to keep her on that dose till the Panocur is gone...then we are to raise her dose to 10 mg a day for 14 days, then go back to 5mg a day

And then we are to call w/ a progress report in a week....If none of this seems to be responding we are going to bring in a stool sample so that we can eliminate other things such as coccidia and giardia........

and there ya go....

Tommorow I am going over there to give the poor sweety a bath...for a chronic diarreah kitty she is very clean, however she does have a few crusties on her paws, and I know feeling clean would make her feel good...

Gosh I gotta tell you I am sooo angry....
...I havent been this angry is a very very very long time......John and I want to take Yinny....But we are not sure if thats possible concidering the kitties we have now....and the fact that her and Mabby are so alike we know they would hate eachother....But we are going to think about it and see what we can do..In anycase we will bemoinitoring this situation very very very closely......

Well i guess thats it..........Prognosis is good....the poor kitty......I guess we will see from here.....Thanx again everyone for your support and prayers and advice.......

Wow...she is lucky to have you in her corner. Any chance that you could rehome her with a super good friend? I can see why you'd want to just take her in yourself.

That poor little kitty. I know that long-term laxative use in humans really screws up the digestive system. To think that this was induced on Yinny just makes my blood boil. I will send more healing vibes to her and keep up giving her as much as you can.

Thanx Jana...I really appreciate the vibes, and I am sure Yinny does to.....

Now Trish is trying to say that the vet told her to fee each cat the wrong food....Oh an by the way did ya hear pigs could fly too......man oh man......

Not that I am not peeved at the vet as well.....If you look at her freekin bloodwork they would have known it was IBS......

Oh well I have to just keep reminding myself that I am in charge of this show now.........
