Lucy, although she's an indoor cat only (she was a victim of abject cruelty when she was younger by her previous owners and her front leg folds back under her, severed tendon) caught some kind of virus. In human terms we'd call it "a right, stinking cold" but whatever it was nearly killed her. It was thanks to us having a really good vet - she was hospitalised for nearly a week, that she is now 98% recovered and all the healing vibes everyone put out that she is still with us.

She's a lovely old cat, approximate age 16 who we totally adore
I know she adores us too - you see it in her eyes. Total love and trust.

You can see Lucy's front paw bends back at the knuckle (the leg with most ginger on it) and also the bald patch where she had the IV drip in. The fur is starting to grow back now and should be back to normal in a few weeks. The great news is she's eating everything in sight and is slowly gaining weight again, curling up on me at night and singing me to sleep with her soft purr

Lucy's a real little sweetheart, a lovely girl.
I'm glad she's recovered from her nasty virus. She's very fortunate to have put those horrible former humans behind her and found a wonderful home with you.

I've had Lucy for 9 years and in that time I've tried to make it up to her what she suffered before I got her. My husband dotes on her too. He was really upset when she was ill. Because of Lucy's illness and just before that, I had to travel 500 miles because my daughter who was expecting her first baby took ill plus over the last few years we've had major health problems in our family, my son's kidneys failed 4 years ago and my husband had a major heart attack last year, money has been very tight. This year presents under the tree will be very poor, but we're all still together and seeing Lucy get better means it's Christmas every day for as long as we're together

I know we're going to have a really wonderful Christmas
