my cat has some primer/sealer on him. It's water based, but mold and mildew resistant, so I am not sure of what it contains. It smells fairly strong. I'm not sure what to do ... cleaning it off with rubbing alchohol will get it off, but I fear he will lick that ... what should I do? do you think he will be alright with it only being a small ammount? please, i need feedback asap.

thank you,
kevin

Rubbing alcohol is fine to use. You can follow it up with water. He will not lick the alcohol because he will be turned off by the strong smell.

is the paint a latex?? if it is you should be able to get it off really easy with just plain water.

If it is water based I would bath him a couple of times with pet shampoo or a gentle neutral hair shampoo like Dove or Johnson's Baby. If you can get Dawn liquid detergent I also believe that is neutral and safe to use. The night I found Persil she was smothered in motor oil and I had to bathe her several times before it began to come ioff. And the vet also used surgical spirit on her to get some of the more stubborn stains off.

If the paint has dried, you might try massaging the area with olive oil and rubbing little clumps of fur between your fingers to loosen it. Olive oil won't hurt the kitty's skin, and is even safe if he licks it. It also comes out very easily with kitty shampoo...
