What does :bump: mean? or maybe without the parentheses? I see this posted by itself for no obvious reason, undoubtedly there is a hidden one.
moderators will sometimes bump a thread that everyone needs to see in order to keep it at the top of the new posts.Originally Posted by joecool

Sometimes, when a thread isn't getting any or many replies, the thread starter will "bump" the thread, to keep it from falling off of the board. This is discouraged, as it may cause threads that ARE of interest to fall of of the first page.Originally Posted by joecool
Oh i see.... but as i say, i first saw a non-mod do it. In fact i have yet to see a mod do it, only nons. But this is discouraged?
