There have been many critics that have made this analogy too, with Sauron being rising Nazi/Hitler regime. From some show that was about the books, Tolkien flat out said that it had nothing to do with WWI or WWII. This is of course coming from someone who was recorded as continuously talking to Gandolf in his later years as well.
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Narnia yet, but have heard that analogy to the Bible. Someone else said it here, it's about marketing and money. If someone says that its another representation of the bible, then you have that many more people going to see the movie. I'm sure if someone marketing Harry Potter said that represents Satan v. Jesus, then there wouldn't be that much hype about how evil Harry Potter is (including the burning of Harry Potter books that happened a couple of years ago in some small Christian town).
