Hi everyone.
As most of you know i got a bengal kitten called simba 3 wk ago and he is now 16 wks old (i think) anyway just thought i would post about his behaviour, he gets very playfull at certain times of the day, and 11 o clock at night, but he wants to play rough so he goes for your hands or feet and scratches or bites you.Which hurts alot!
Also if you give him a toy to distract him he will just bring it onto your leg and claw his way round like as if your legs a tree, so that doesnt exactly work.
I feel as if i spend most of the day pushing him off (in a gentle way).

I will definately be sorting his claws out,any other advice?

Try playing with him for a long time before you go to bed, so he'll be too tired to play while you're sleeping!

Any of the fishing rod type toys that keep them at a distance are usfull when they get scratchy. Cloe has one from Pets at Home like a feathery tail on a stick that she loves

I find that the Cat Dancer toy wipes my kitties out more than anything else I've tried, and it will keep him at a distance from you so you will be less likely to be scratched. Supposedly it resembles live prey to cats. My two go nuts over it, and for $2.50 that's a good deal.

I have a 13 week kitty and I never play with her with my hands. I dont want her to associate hands with play, just food and comfort. so she is very gentle with my fingers. I play with her fiercely with things attached to a thin pole. she loves grabbing the doodads ( usually hair scrunchies with thin ribbons) at the end and carrying them back to her room which is like her den. then when she lets go I run away with it and we start all over. after about 30 minutes of this she is almost comatose for the remainder of the afternoon.
I guess cats have circadian rhthyms too. she is most active at dawn and sunset. sothat's when we play a lot.
