I'm back in NZ (bubba due March) until April and had to leave my girl Ginger behind with DH.
I am really missing her and feel so sad for her being home by herself all day while DH is at work. She has always had me at home to give her cuddles.

I was her private sleeping cushion and was trapped many times feeling too guilty to disturb her while I played on the internet.
Will she even remember me when I go back

She has a cat tree and lots of toys, a sheepskin rug to sleep on and a bowl full of bikkies for the day. DH takes her for a walk each morning on the harness but then she's alone for about 10hrs.
I've been over here for 2 weeks and miss her like crazy

Apparently every time DH gets home she tells him off for about 10 minutes straight and then runs about the house going loopy.
When I was there she slept 90% of the time, usually on my lap

So far so good with no outward signs of retaliation and in another week DH gets 3 weeks off but after that back to the grindstone.

Any advice to keep my baby happy?

BTW a 2nd kitten is out of the question, its in our lease.

Sounds like your kitten is going to be in better shape than you are.
As long as she has someone there that she knows, she will be fine. And yes, she will remember you. She may be a bit miffed when you first come home, but she will warm up.

You're probably right about that Hissy .
I wanted to cry when we said goodbye to her but then my 8yr old would have got all upset.
I know she's in good hands with my DH, she would get a hello kiss before I did!
I just worry about her being home alone every day when she has always had company before.

Can you get DH to put on a cat video for her during the day, or maybe just tune in Animal Planet? Classical music would be nice, too, played softly so as not to interfere with sleep.

Also, maybe he could hide some treats in different places every day, so she'd have fun looking for them...

Hissy's right -- this is probably harder on you than on her. Bless your heart... I know I start missing my babies after just a few hours! Maybe you could spend time with cats by volunteering at a shelter... not the same thing, of course, but it might help. Hang in there...
