I have a 4 month old kitten & naturally I want him to have the best food/nutrition available. What is the best way to feed him a combination of canned & dry food? I was thinking of feeding him in the following manner-

As much canned Felidae as he can eat in 1/2 hour every morning.
1/4 cup of dry Felidae during the day while I am @ work.
As much canned Felidae as he can eat in 1/2 hour in the evening.

Will feeding him in this manner offer him enough food/nutrition? Any suggestions or experiences will be greatly appreciated.

Well, I have been feeding him 1/3 cup of dry food only per day. But after reading lots of posts on this site I have decided to use a combination of canned and dry. So I can't say that I know if this feeding regimen will actually work for him.

I havewnt had a small kitten in a decade and half so I forget how much they do eat... for my girls I leave wet food for about 15 minutes then I pick it up

That sounds like an excellant regimen for your kitty to me. Keep on keeping the ratio in favor of the canned food vs the dry.

I must admit I leave the wet food out for at least an hour at night after which time it is devoured (in the morning I actually put it out and then leave for work). Our house isn't overly hot so I don't worry that the food is going to spoil in one hour and I want to make sure they have a chance to eat as much as they want. Also, Bijou eats first and then Mika gets to eat. I've tried giving them each a dish but Mika will not eat until Bijou finishes - guess he's the alpha and she knows it.

I also give them 1/2 cup dry food per day to snack on while we are at work or during the night. The food dishes are empty each morning when I get up.
