My Kitty is a long hair who for the past 9 months has this thing about licking just above her paws until all the fur is gone. The skin is not irritanted or red. She has now started on her tail. Any ideas what this could be ? The Vet gave her a quartizone shot and she stopped for a while but started again. Hate to keep giving her shots.

This could be an allergy or it could be a stress related thing.
Take him to the vet for some more advice - if he can't find any indications of allergies and he thinks it's stress related, than ask to be referred to a qualified behaviorist (and also bring this up in the behavior forum
)
