I have a male who is almost 2 years old & still chewing on everything he can!! I have used the bitter apple spray & that seems to work but I can't spray everything like my clothes!!! Any suggestions?? Why does he chew, & sometimes eat, everything like a kitten still??? He even bites the corner of the wall, the corner of the marble sink, not just soft things. Sometimes I think he is going to break a tooth because he bites on things that are hard! He has chewed through multiple wires--too many to even count! I now have wireless keyboard & mouse! He eats a lot of things too--which really worries me because he has actually thrown up things he ate like paper & strings. We are super cautious about leaving anything he could get to but he always finds something--he even goes in the garbages sometimes. He is the most affectionate kitty & he has a great personality too! Any suggestions on why he chews & eats everything? I don't want him to get sick or worse.

I would take this cat the vet fairly quickly and ask for a big panel to be run on him. Is he neutered? If he isn't then neutering him will help.

He may also need a better nutrition food or vitamin supplement. Does he go outside? Could he have an internal parasite?

Thanks for responding...

He is neutered & an inside only cat. I feed him Fancy Feast wet food & Pet Guard dry food...which is always in his bowl & available to him. I have had his poop tested 3 separate times & there has never been a paparsite found. I will start giving him vitamins--any other suggestions? Is he just bored or something?

Well, fancy feats isn't really the best food choice, although I never heard of Pet Guard food. I would switch to a higher quality food, some good suggestions in the nutrition forum. Does he have enough interesting toys? maybe try redirecting his attention to a toy....good luck!

He would benefit from a blood test, not a fecal exam.
