Ok so I've posted before but here it goes again, ha.
So my cat is perfect except she goes into attack mode when she sees the other cat (my roommate's), so she is in my room all the time. I thought I could just keep her in there (I've had her for 4 months now), but it would be so nice if they had eachother while we were gone during the day or if we go out at night. I take her out on a harness to get her used to the other cat, but every time the other one gets close, she will go to attack her, she doesnt seem to calm down the more she sees the other one. i think she will hurt the other one if i let them out because she has bitten her on the head when i first got her and she is 12 lbs and the other one is 6lbs. i'm so fed up with making the poor thing stay in my room all the time, i'm thinking about just letting them out and chasing her when she runs after the other one and spraying her with water. from what i've read, she seems more aggressive than normal and i'm wondering if i'll have to keep her in my room until i move
(which i cant do any time soon). i love her to death... she is a total angel with people but when she sees other animals, she turns into devil cat. just wondering if anyone else ever had such an aggressive cat and if i could just let them out together and spray her. they will be all over the house, it's so scary and stressful, it's happened before.

thanks for your guys help!

Did you try the slow introduction as mentioned on this site? being forced together, and with cats being territorial is not the best idea. I would try the slow intro, and the spray Feliway(sp) that is also mentioned on here, seems to work wonders for other ppl, and they can give you some more detailed advice, good luck!

Is your cat hissing, spitting, growling when she sees the other cat? Did she draw blood the last time she bit the other cat? Chasing is pretty normal when cats play. Some growling and biting is also normal. She may just be trying to play with the other cat. My cats wrestle all over the house and sometimes the bigger cat will munch onto the smaller cats ear. When that happens, the smaller cat wails and then the bigger cat lets go and looks embarrassed. You may just have to let the cats figure dominance out before they'll get along. I wouldn't spray her if she chases the other cat, just leave them alone to work it out.

yeah i think that's what i'm going to do... i hope my roommate doesnt freak out though and try to protect her cat because then it's not going to work. her cat is a babied purebread siamese and mine is from the humane society and i'm not sure of her background. hers is scared of mine because she attacked her, but i think i might just let them be with eachother for a little while and see what happens. mine growls, and hers hisses at mine... when she bit her last time she took a chunk of fur out of her head but no blood. my baby is gangsta, haha.

If it's really serious, there are behavior modifying drugs you can try, to "take the edge off". They don't make her loopy, just calmer....good luck!

do u think that it's worth her taking the drugs to get out of the room and not attack the other one, or should i just maybe keep her in my room? i want to do what's best for her and the other cat. i dont want the other cat to be afraid either. tough situation
