kitty poop and litter box

My little kitty, Gracie, well not so little anymore, she just turned 10mths has started pooping on the edge of the litter box. Its like she doesn't "hunker" down low enough. She has no problem peeing just pooping. Any suggestions?

I think you need to get a deeper litter box so she can't hit the eedge anymore.

I agree, I would get a larger box for her to use. Some people on the site have even used the large tupperware containers.

Do you have a covered box? That may be one solution. Like Sandie said, some people swear by the cheap Rubbermaid-type containers that you can get pretty cheap at Wal-Mart. They have said that you can leave the top on and cut a hole in the side so that the kitty has to be completely on the inside of the box.

Hmmmm, everybody has good points here. The cat box is not covered but does have that "lip" thing to hold liners (which I don't use) in place. A covered box will not fit where the box is now and I really don't have anywhere else to put it. I might could fit a "deeper" box in the space, I will have to try.
