I am in pain! I was just standing there, barely leaning over...I mean BARELY! About to take a picture of Mooch and Noodles of course, and my back just totally spazed out! I hurt it a few years back on the other side. Ever since then when I'm doing something like shoveling if I'm not too careful it will do something like this. But this time I wasn't doing anything!

It's my lower right side of my back. It was like someone went deep into my mucles, grabed on and yanked real hard. And to make matters worse, not only did I need to climb onto a step stool to see in my kitchen cabinets, where our meds are kept, but it wasn't even in there! It was in my purse on the floor! On the other side of the room where I originally started! Needless to say I could not get that 800mg motrin in me fast enough. I feel nauseous and I can hardly walk! DH is at work, we don't have a heating pad or anything. We did get his grandma one of thoes aromatherapy bag things you can heat in the microwave...I may have to open her present and borrow it! Wait...thats on the floor too! Help!

(I'm not sure how i'm going to get back out of this chair!)

In a state of insanity :)
Sounds like a bone has slipped out of place in your back. I suggest if you have a chiropracter to go to. Call and tell them what happened and see if they can help. If not go to the ER for help.

If neither one of options are not doable see if you can find a firm spot that is easily accesible and lay down and rest some. The motrin should be working soon and you should be able to move with only a mimunium of screaming
and
also heat is a very good idea to make the muscles relax.

hugs and get better vibes coming your way. from one who knows what you are talking about. a frequent back pain sufferer too

You should really get to an ER and have an assessment in the event it is something serious - it sounds like a routine pulled muscle but you never know until you have it checked out by a doctor. A chirorpractor cannot tell you that -- you really need an ER doc!

A disc could also be swollen.

about 5 years ago my cousin was wrestling with my brother and my sister.. I was walking past and he picked me up abouve his head, he was about 6 feet at the time.. so Ifiure about 6 and a half feet up.. and my brother tackled him right then.. I went flying into a tree truck, on my back. I ahve had xrays done a number of times.. but they never find anything. If they can't find anything.. I'd like to know why it still hurts everyday.. for 5 years.

Under the cats, mostly.
Could actually be muscular damage....I put my back and neck out by sneezing once! And boy I know how you feel when you say it hurts. Could also be discus prolapse. It needs to be checked out by a doctor. I hope you start to feel better soon

Thanks for your well wishes everyone.

I'm feeling a little better today. Walking funny but not in such agony as last night. The motrin is helping but I feel a bit spacy sometimes!
I'm trying to take it easy at work and my plan for tonight is to just chill! (Most likely on TCS of course!) It's times like these I need a laptop so I can get online from bed!

I understand your pain all to well!!! I did that to my back 3 weeks ago and I thought my legs were going to give out on me!!. All I did was try to pick up one of my cats and OH MY GOD the pain! It still hurts!!! I was just contemplating trying to rastle with the litter boxes and my back said NO. I went to the doctor for anti-inflamatories and muscle relaxers and it still hurts.... I work for a crummy company, that has crummy insurance and I can't afford the medical expense to get checked out... bummer

I hope you feel better soon

Oh you poor love. That is awful! I did the same thing to my back on my honeymoon and it's never been right since. And no, I wasn't doing anything naughty!! It happened when I sat down on the loo, believe it or not!!

Sending lots of get well vibes to you - it's just awful when you hurt your back
